Sakura (F1) is a cherry tomato bred for sweetness, yield and consistency. It’s been widely grown and well tested, and its reputation rests on dependable performance rather than novelty.
This is an indeterminate cherry tomato that grows steadily and crops heavily under good conditions. The plants set long trusses of small, evenly sized fruit and continue producing through the season with regular picking, making it easy to maintain a steady harvest rather than a single glut.
The tomatoes are small and round, with a pinkish-red skin and juicy flesh. Flavour is sweet with a light tang, clean rather than cloying, and well suited to fresh eating. Under good growing conditions, sugar levels are high for a cherry tomato, which is why Sakura is often chosen for snacking and salads.
Sakura F1 performs best under glass, where warmth and consistency support both yield and flavour development. It can be grown outdoors in a warm, sheltered position, but its strengths really show when given protection.
